Help with Beans

We’re listening.

Report a problem, tell us what felt confusing, or ask for help with your pet’s records.

Need veterinary help?

Beans support is not a veterinary or emergency service. Beans does not diagnose or assess emergencies. For an urgent concern, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary service directly. Do not wait for an email reply.

Help us reproduce a problem

  • Your Beans version and build number from Settings, plus your iPhone model and iOS version.
  • What you were trying to do, the steps you took, and what happened instead.
  • Whether you were online, returning from the background, or switching pets.
  • A screenshot or short screen recording, if useful. Remove private information first.

Never send passwords, sign-in codes, insurer credentials, or unredacted policy documents in a support email.

Common questions

Why does sign-in mention Mae?

Beans uses the existing Mae sign-in service through Clerk. Your Beans pets and records have their own access controls; signing in does not import your Mae records. Use the sign-in form’s recovery options if needed. Contact support if the app cannot complete sign-in, without sending credentials.

Can I use Beans without sharing with AI?

Yes. On the Beans AI sharing screen, choose “Not now.” My Pets, Organizer, and saved records remain available. To stop an existing permission, use Settings → AI conversations → Turn off AI conversations. This ends active AI sharing and leaves your saved records in place. Start a conversation to review the disclosure and explicitly enable sharing again.

How do I test pet history?

Create a test pet, share a harmless detail with Beans, and confirm conversation memory is on. End that conversation, start a new one for the same pet, and ask about the detail. Check the source, speaker, and date. If recall is wrong or unavailable, report what you expected. Speech transcriptions and AI answers can contain errors.

Does memory work without a connection?

Beans retains its pet-history database on your iPhone and saves accepted pending text records locally before cloud synchronization. Current history retrieval still needs an internet connection to verify access and apply changes. A pending sync message is not confirmation that the cloud has received a record.

How do I stop saving or delete conversation text?

Tap the conversation memory status in Beans to open the notebook controls. Turn off “Remember conversations” to stop future capture. Use “Prepare history export” for an export, or “Delete my conversation history for this pet” to remove your sessions’ text. Separately saved notes and other family members’ sessions remain. Start a new conversation before enabling capture after deletion. See the privacy page for details and broader account requests.

Why did my conversation stop?

Backgrounding the app, signing out, or losing the authorized session stops capture. Audio route changes and connection interruptions can also end a conversation. Check your connection and microphone permission, then reconnect or start a new conversation as offered by the app.

Can Beans track my pet or send geofence alerts?

Not yet. The tracking view currently offers a labeled animated preview. Live positions, routes, battery readings, and geofence alerts require a tracker integration that is not connected in this beta. A preview pin is not your pet’s location.

Can Beans connect to my insurer?

You can import a PDF or supported image of a policy and review its details, or open a carrier’s website. Automatic insurer account synchronization and claim submission are not available. The catalog shows published options; only the carrier can confirm availability, coverage, eligibility, and a personalized quote. The current catalog does not include reviewed horse plans.

How do I delete my Beans account?

Open Settings → Account → Delete Beans account and confirm. This permanently removes your solely owned Beans pet profiles, conversations, care records, and saved insurance information. Beans clears this account’s saved copies on the current iPhone after the service confirms deletion. Your shared sign-in and Mae account are kept. If a connection or cleanup fails, keep the iPhone unlocked and use the offered retry; access stays paused until the action finishes.

Families shared with others, or records involving another family, must be resolved first. If Beans says nothing was deleted, contact for help. Include your account email and the message shown, but no password or verification code. Open Beans online on your other devices so they can apply cleanup. Read the data and retention details.

What does “Start fresh in Beans” mean?

After deletion, using Beans again requires an explicit choice. Starting fresh allows a new Beans account without restoring deleted pets or history. If you already started again on another device, an older device may instead ask you to “Continue in Beans.” Your shared sign-in remains separate. Cancel if you do not want to use Beans again.

How do I request another privacy action?

Email for correction, export, shared-family ownership, or other privacy requests. Include the request type and account email, but no password, verification code, or identity documents.
